Energy-Efficient Light Bulbs

Turn the answers on with energy-efficient light bulbs.

Pick up specially priced compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) and light-emitting diodes (LEDs) at participating retailers.

According to ENERGY STAR®, lighting accounts for up to 20 percent of residential electricity bills. One of the simplest moves you can make to start saving money and reducing your home's environmental impact is to install ENERGY STAR qualified light bulbs. By replacing incandescent bulbs with qualified compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) you can use up to 75 percent less energy and save money over the lifetime of each bulb. To take the savings another step further, consider LEDs, which use even less energy and last up to five times longer than CFLs.
