Turn the answers on with energy-efficient light bulbs.

According to ENERGY STAR®, lighting accounts for up to 20 percent of residential electricity bills. One of the simplest moves you can make to start saving money and reducing your home’s environmental impact is to install ENERGY STAR qualified light bulbs. By replacing incandescent bulbs with qualified compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) you can use up to 75 percent less energy and save money over the lifetime of each bulb.

Energy Saving Benefits

  • Use up to 75 percent less energy with a CFL bulb than with an incandescent bulb
  • Save energy and money over the lifetime of every CFL that replaces a traditional incandescent bulb

Environmental Benefits

  • Reduce energy consumption and heat output that is associated with using incandescent light bulbs
